    The Blue Max

    Release date: 21 June 1966
    Running time: 156 minutes
The aircraft used in the film were:
    • Tiger Moths
    • Stampe SV.4
    • Pfalz D.III
    • Fokker D.VII
    • Fokker Dr. I triplanes
    • SE 5

The cinematography is phenomenal considering this film was produced in 1965

I believe most if not all the Fokker DR1's were replicas with radial engines, not rotaries.

Some of the Fokker DVII's might have been originals.

The others were replicas, some with original engines, some not.

Was a good film... except for George Peppard being cast as the lead.

Rare planes in the movies seem to divide into two categories: there are pilots' planes, and there are celebrities' planes.

Some nice close-ups of SE-5's among others in 1976's "Aces High".

"A Bücker Bü 181 'Bestmann' was used in the movie The Great Escape. It was flown in the movie by James Garner with Donald Pleasence as his passenger".
