OK, that's really cool. Lego has some crazy stuff nowadays!

I'd guess that it's someone's custom build (a MOC - My Own Creation) rather than an official set. The 'Enemy Soldier' minifigure from the Indian Jones sets is probably the closest we'll get to WWII content from them, for the sake of their public image.
They did turn this graphic scene into this minifigure, though, so I could be wrong.

Airfix Quickbuild series is essentially Lego. I think a Lego copyright expired.

Lego’s patent for the „system“ expired. That’s why you see a lot of legit manufacturers doing compatible stuff nowadays. Not copying Lego sets, bit creating their own, just with 100% interchangeable parts (and some new).
There are still the chinese rip-offs though. And Lego minifigures is copyrighted so they should only exist in official lego sets.
Lego also doesn’t do war stuff. So if you want tanks etc. you need to go to other manufacturers, like Bluebrixx or Cobi. Cobi has a historical WW2 collection, for example. There is also Xingbao which has some nice sets.

Haha had never seen those. Only the „normal“ infantry ones featured in youtubes videos etc.
The tank model looks nice though.
I was eying a U-Boot Typ VII from Cobi, even though I have a Revell one I could build. But I must admit the temptation of just slapping bricks together and have something resembling a VII within two hours is high.
