Engine settings applying on de-selcted engines

    S!

Have noticed that the engine selections(throttle, radiator and oil cooler) apply to both engines even I de-select the one I do not want to adjust. An example. Last night flew on ATAG and our old friend Marlow spotted our glorious 110´s in his Sissyfire and engaged. He got hits on my plane so I had to shut down engine 2. I deselected engine 1 and had engine 2 selected and started to shut it down: manually reduce prop pitch(feather sort of), close radiator and oil cooler, cut throttle, fuel pumps and magnetos. Then I deselected engine 2 and selected engine 1. Radiator had gone to 0 as well as the oil cooler, even engine 1 had been deselected. I had to quickly re-adjust them so the good engine would not blow up. This has happened several times. Anyone else experiencing this?

Re: Engine settings applying on de-selcted engines

Never happened to me in Beaufighter, Blenheim or Wellington.

I have 'engine 1' on key "1", 'engine 2' on key "2" and 'all engines' on key "0".

I normally fly with all engines selected.
If one gets damaged, for example engine 1, I press "1", close radiator and feather the prop, then I select the other engine by pressing "2" and it had its previous settings which I can alter as I please, while engine 1 stays shut down.
Only if I would press "0" for some reason, naturally both engines would again change settings.

Will look at this... If I remember there was a work-around.

I confirm it also works exactly like DerDa describes on all LW twins (Bf 110, He 111, Ju 88)

    S!

Thanks Buzzsaw! I have mapped keys on my HOTAS to select/deselct engines. I always deselect the good one for adjusting damaged engine, yet the oil cooler and radiator go to zero. I am planning to build a console for engine controls like that so I can adjust them regardless.
