    Fw-190?

In another post I read something about a FW-190 being on”the drawing board” and to be patient about it’s appearing,I must have missed the post or the hint of future plans and additions. Can someone fill me in or even better direct me to sign the tmail bread that concerns what the future might hold? Thanks!

    Re: Fw-190?

    Hi Blitzen,

a first version of Fw 190A (I guess A-1, A-2, A-3, or maybe all of them) should be in the planned TFS 6 extension.
It is the only new aircraft confirmed by Buzzsaw as far as I know.
I'm afraid this is all what is known so far.

Bad, bad news for the red side!
But I will love to see this bird and the cockpit in game.

Do we get any hints about what Reds will get to counter this?

Excellent news! Drooling already. I’ve always seen the FW-190A as some sort of G.50 on steroids…

Spitfire F/LF Mk IX and Typhoon are my guesses. Early Allison Mustangs might be an option too?

    Re: Fw-190?

If I were a betting man, my bet would be on all three tbh.
So many chances there to couple the early P-51 and the Spitfire with the desert war and expand the theater (hopefully with the correct map locations some day). All three fit the Channel perfectly, up to 1944 with not so major modifications (even the P-51 or P-51A, since they were still being used by the RAF in 44; Mustangs I, Ia and II).

And throw in the A-36 while we are at it. And the recce variants for some interesting gameplay elements.

    Re: Fw-190?

Nice to hear that the very first FW190 models are getting modelled as well, I was kinda only expecting the A-3 tbh. I cant recall any combat flight sim that has featured the 190A-1 or A-2 thus far.
But these were the models that the RAF first came into contact with and which came gave them such a nasty surprise, even with their teething problems and neutered engine power.

If we're staying in or coming back to the African & Med theater then I sure would like to see:

    - the North American A-36 Apache (6x.50Cal)
    - the Lockheed P-38F & G
    - the Curtiss Merlin P-40F & L and Allison P-40K & M
    - the Reggiane Re.2001
    - the Savoia-Marchetti SM.79

If this is a wish list, don't forget to add the Mosquito and the B-25

But all this is (educated) guesswork. I hoped to get some morsels of information from the devs
    And I still would love a Do 17, P-36 and a MS.406 for a French campaign scenario.

    - It requires much less work as it's basically a re-engined C.202
    - It saw more intense and more widespread action than both the Fiat G.55 or Reggiane Re.2005

The G.55 only ever operated over the Italian mainland, the same was true for the Re.2005.

    Yes.

I was just impressed by the citation that after comparative tests against the Messerschmitt Bf 109G and the Focke-Wulf 190, the Luftwaffe itself regarded the Fiat G.55 as "the best Axis fighter", including Kurt Tank himself…

Otherwise any of the Centauro, Veltro, or Sagittario would get my equal vote

There's a very simple solution for this: we need a map of Italy!

I'd prefer a Malta/Sicily/Pantelleria map before any part of the Italian mainland is modelled.
Also French Morocco/Algiers for some dank A-36 action. We can then move onto Italy and the Series 5 unicorns.

Just so long as it isn't the Series 4 Bouchon variant with the narwhal fitment.

    Re: Fw-190?

I went over to BOS just to learn and fly the FW190s for about 6 months. I flew the A3 and A5 extensively. The quad cannon setup is nasty. Boom and zoom and you can't be touched done correctly. Once you learn the takeoff. Tailwheel locking by holding the stick back and learn a when stall happens, you will see why it was a nasty surprise for the allies. On the deck after booming you are the fastest. You can dive away at and incredible speed and still have control. The roll rate is outstanding for defense or offense. I am coming from flying a 109 90% of the time which became my fav over the years. They are different planes. It took me a while because to me I can change my strategy on a dime in a 109 and the 190 you really should stick with boom and zoom and good SA. This is great news to me

    Re: Fw-190?

In the spring of 1942, the Luftwaffe deployed the Fw190 to its airfields in France.

My bet: The 'Dieppe Raid' (Operation Jubilee) with Fw190 on a reviewed 4k Channel Map.
