For my part, I think it's great that in such a short time these wonderful events take place on the ATAG servers.

For me it can go on like this.)))

Re: Two Day On Line Event - Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August

    Hi all,

Hope everyone has had a great week.

Time to jump into your favourite cockpit and scramble!

Here is the mission and briefing for the first event of our double header weekend on the TFS Server 3.

    Cliffs of Dover Blitz

    June 1941
    Circus Time!

    Red briefing

The RAF is now on the offensive conducting circus raids into occupied France. The night bomber war is ongoing with both sides conducting nightly attacks on a range of different targets. New aircraft variants have entered service since the BoB and the fighter fight is going ever higher as performance improves.

To win Red must score 150. Circus type targets are available in northern France and bomber type targets in the Rouen-Le Havre area. Some targets can be destroyed by strafing or single /small number of bomber payloads. Points as follows

(= nearest Long Range Radio Beacon)

    (a) Axis shipping convoy (CQ 56) bound for Dunkirk: 10
    (b) Axis convoy sheltering in the mouth of the Somme (BZ25): 10 (Abbeville 361 Khz)
    (c) Axis desert pre-deployment camp (CK24): 30 (Barley 364 Khz)
    (d) He 111s at Tramcourt preparing to head east: 30 (Tramecourt 368 Khz)
    (e) Axis fuel dump at Licques (CE38): 20 (Hemilinghen 372 Khz)
    (f) Hazebrouck railyard (CM37): 30 (Zutkerque 378 Khz)
    (g) Abbeville industrial park (CC23): 30 (Abbeville 361 Khz)
    (h) Rouen industrial complex (BR8): 40 (Rouen-Boos 383 Khz)
    (i) Point Audemer industrial park (BJ6): 30 (Le Havre 386 Khz)
    (j) Creil D20 assembly factory (1 Welly bombload): 50 (Creil 391 Khz)
    (Dieppe Airfield 313 Khz)

Spit Vb's have been placed in near historical locations as per the Biggin Hill Wing.

Canterbury has a range of other aircraft including Tomahawks which were still in-theatre in June 1941, albeit they didn't fly in the Circus raids.

    Blue briefing

Navigation beacons are available at Theville (ch: 302), Crepon (304), Fecamp (306) and Bologne (308)

Look forward to seeing you in the skies!

Now I understand. This are the coordinates off the ingame map. I have used the map in the IL-2 folder with the wrong coordinares.
    Exist newer maps?

Re: Two Day On Line Event - Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August

    Hi guys,
the today event does it have any il2 Desert Wings content? Because a friend of mine, with only Cliffs, can't get in...

PS: I read the briefing now and I answer myself. Being 1941, yes. Too bad he, recently bought clod and likes it, wanted to try the event.
It will be for next time.

No difference. Same thing. Just two different guys writing/editing the briefings at different times. When I installed the additional beacons yesterday I used the "Long Range Radio Beacon" term which is what they're called in the Full Mission Builder. The "Navigation Beacon" term was used by whoever originally created the mission and wrote the Briefing.

    Sorry for the confusion.

No worries. That’s what I figured out.

I have a question with regards to blue target number (h): Andover.
Yesterday I flew there 6-7 times.
I never managed to destroy the target, although I have destroyed every building at Andover airfield, both from high alt and low passes.
Strangely whenever I came back all destroyed buildings seemed to have been rebuilt...
So I Ended up doing low passes dropping my 32 bombs one by one on every possible infrastructure, but no success.
What am I missing here? What does it take to finish this target?

EDIT: Duh! Just realized the target was in Harwell... Andover was just the "nearest long range beacon". Damn it!

Very sorry to be missing out on all this fun but I'm either gigging or driving to/from gigs through every weekend. Maybe tomorrow (Sun) I'll have free time and be awake, though I suppose with everyone committing to these events they won't be online. Oh well.

    Enjoy

Re: Two Day On Line Event - Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August

On Friday Jeepy, Jackmaxx, and I took off in Wellington 1c’s from Eastchurch. We flew south to Wilmington to gain altitude, then crossed the Channel towards Dieppe. This took us away from enemy fighters reported to be active near Hell’s Corner between Dover and Manston. Once over Dieppe we turned north east for our target - He111’s taxiing at Tramecourt airfield. Jackmaxx and I scored bomb hits on the airfield, while Jeepy knocked out the hangars, then flew low over the field to strafe the remaining 111’s. Mission objective accomplished!

While enroute to Tramecourt from Dieppe we spotted enemy shipping that were sheltering in the Somme estuary near Abbeville. Jeepy made a mental note to hold some bombs in reserve once Tramecourt was dealt with. Sure enough, as we followed a reciprocal course back to Dieppe, Jack and I watched Jeepy dive upon the hapless freighters. Jeepy was a machine - he educated Jack and I on The Fine Art of Skip Bombing with a Wellington! Jack and I cruised back and forth on the deck through the freighters ostensibly to draw flak, but really to watch an expert at work. One by one we witnessed massive explosions as 4 out of the 5 ships were sent to the bottom of the Somme until Jeepy ran out of 250 lb’ers. Who needs torpedoes when Jeepy’s around?

Jeepy took some flak damage, so a long & slow return cross-Channel trip from Dieppe to Wilmington ensued, but happily uneventful. We picked up some friendly escort on the way back and we touched down on Wilmington airfield for well-deserved tea and crumpets!

enjoyed flying wimpy on friday, its a different beast and requires a different skillset, snapper and jeepy made it look easy. lost plane and crew to Gatto Pardo on way home ( you are promoted to page one in Book of Grudges Gatto ), so I was happy to finish in a spitty and cause a little mayham at the end, great mission , thanks to Snapper, Oscar , Pattle and all concerned with organisation
Don't let Grudges fester and poison your future happiness......get your revenge as quickly as possible.
