A cup of coffee and some thoughts

    Good afternoon, everybody!

I am having a day off and I have enjoyed flying several flights during this morning. I want to praise this simulator/game as well as to thank all the people who have put their time and effort in developing it. I chose from the dictionary a word “preeminent” to describe my opinion of this project.

I have nothing special to write about. I am just having a nice time while having a nice cup of coffee after dinner. By the way I´m very happy to read about the big events there have been with the server full of pilots. This came to my mind as I flew today alone. No one was there, not that I would except to meet anyone there at these hours as I flew there beginning at 5:30 UTC.

There is, however, a snag – on my side concerning the events – and that thing is, that I simply cannot fly that late as the events tend to take place. I wake every morning before 5:30 (Local time) no matter how late I go to bed. It means that I am usually very tired beginning at 21:30 (local time), which is same as 18:30 UTC. The event begins at 19:00 UTC. I have tried a couple of times to drink coffee in the evening for to take part in the game and succeeded stay awake, yes! But after that I have slept badly, and it has taken me about three days to re-balance my sleeping routine. That is a price I am not willing to pay.

That is all for now – I wish you a good flight today as well as tomorrow.

    Flying high, alone and safe,
    Walstein

    Hi Walstein,

First, glad you are enjoying Cliffs of Dover even flying solo. It’s great to hear - this is what it’s all about.

Second, your concern about the late hour in your time zone is noted and appreciated. Many share your situation. In a similar way, the Aussie & Kiwi pilots have to start brewing their coffee at 4:30 am (or earlier) in their local time zones - hardly ideal also!

Perhaps I can post a poll where forum members can indicate their preferred event time in UTC (I would include a conversion table with major cities worldwide for easy reference). This would give us an idea of numbers in each and whether it’s viable number-wise to conduct events at other times.

We want EVERYONE to join in the fun!

I too wake up early every morning.
A short nap in the afternoon / early evening is much better than coffee to be awake and ready for the events. At least it works for me. And you don’t feel tired the next morning.

    Hi!
Taking nap is somehow difficult for me. I`d rather go without. By the way I have enjoyed very much the correction tables. Now I usually find target quite easily. Thank you for your helpl

    Hi all,

This weekends event kicks off at 1800 UTC and runs for 4 hours.

Hopefully that will give players from most regions a decent time of day in which to join.

    Cheers,

    Pattle
