Problems with AI in Multiplayer Mission

    Hello all!

I'm was testing out a multiplayer mission I made with a friend when I ran into an issue with the AI that I'm not sure how to solve. Basically all the planes in an enemy group focus one player and ignore the others that are right next to them. This causes a group of 4-6 planes attacking one player while the others just sit behind and shoot them! Obviously this is not the correct behavior that should be exhibited in a situation like this. Is there some sort of fix for this or maybe a work-around I can produce in the FMB? My setup is an enemy flight of 4 planes using the attack fighters waypoint. Players are spawned using the Spawn Area module and nothing else. No scripts are being used that would influence anything about the waypoints or AI.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Try splitting the AI into two air groups.

After testing multiple options on group size and waypoint type, players are still having issues with AI not reacting to their presence. It's almost like you are flying around as a spectator that can shoot stuff! I found that the enemy AI latch onto one player and disregard the others, no matter the size or how many groups I set.

Are you setting targets for the AI flights to attack? If you set the same target for all flights, they will all attack that enemy target and not pay attention to other enemies.

And are you setting them tasks for each waypoint? I.e. Escort, attack fighters, etc.

The game requires you input the details of what you want the AI to do.

Sure! ill post a setup of what I have currently.

All my players are flying Luftwaffe so enemy aircraft are set to the RAF. I have a trigger spawning 5 groups relatively near an objective when a player gets close. The first waypoint after the initial RAF spawn waypoint is set to Engage Fighters with no target set. I added two of these waypoints to try and maximize the AI's time in combat. I also have a set of AI Luftwaffe planes escorting a set of bombers in the area. Players have no fight path on the FMB since they are spawning with the Spawn area in Multiplayer. Half of the RAF Fighters are set to engage bombers, the others are set to engage fighters. Am I using the wrong type of waypoints or setting up this situation wrong?

The players are also acting as an escort for the Luftwaffe bombers so all groups including players will arrive in the area at around the same time.

1 comment I can put, From your jpeg the hurricanes timing to arrive 12:36 and make first waypoint 3 minutes later and are gone before the blue bombers arrive at 12:53. Maybe nothing is close enough to initiate combat. A method I have used is to run a mission and jump around the different flights to see where they are in relation to each other

Thanks for the input! I believe the reason for this is I have an area spawn trigger setup to spawn the hurricanes, which means they actually only spawn in once the bombers reach a specific point along their mission. I do not believe the time shown is factored into delayed spawn triggers in the FMB.
