    RPM wiggle on Spitfire

    S!

Tried to search, but found no corresponding info about the "RPM wiggle" on Spitfires. This happens on all versions currently in game except Mk IIb. Has been tested a lot by -koko-. He always used same procedure: starting engine, warming up, taxi and take-off, using values indicated in the flashcards not to exceed any operational limits. After take-off the RPM would wiggle(shown by gauge too) in all Spitfires except the mentioned Mk. IIb. Could it be related to mixture setting or something else? Just strange that one model does not suffer from it.

Yes. Radiators always open and all temps as per flashcards. It is like engine running very slightly rough, but Spitfire Mk.IIb did not do it.

Never forget that the Flashcards were designed to enable a pilot, new to the sim, to start up his aircraft, take off and land again successfully. Therefore, the engine settings suggested in these manuals and flashcards are conservative, ‘safe settings designed to give the new pilot time to get used to any aircraft, without the danger of engine damage and the discouragement that might follow. Early success is the aim!

As experience grows, the pilot can later experiment with engine settings and learn to boost aircraft performance but he will also be encouraged to use these documents to try a whole variety of aircraft new to him
