MSFS 2020 versus reality (the sim wins)

How precise is the simulated world of MSFS 2020? Not flying over well known cities or airports but over small towns and tiny airstrips in the middle of nowhere? So I fired up my brand new Gaming PC (i9 12900KS/Nvidia Geforce 3080ti, 64 GB RAM) and "reenact" one of my flights this year in MSFS. I cranked up the settings to Ultra with Nvidias DLSS 2 enabled. Take-off was in Hamburg-Boberg then heading north-west to Stelle, Holtrersloh, Lüneburg and Neu-Gülze. The quality of the "real" footage isn't that great because of the 360 degree lens and the dirt/reflections of the canopy.

    System: i7-6700K, MSI Nvidia 1070GTX, 16GB RAM, Gigabyte GA-Z170 K3, Win10 64Bit, TrackIR5, HOTAS Warthog, Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals, Sennheiser 350 Headset, LG 34' 21:9

I live at the beach, and all the houses are on stilts, but MSFS 2020 shows them all as ground level houses. Also, the bridges connecting my island to the mainland are shown, but cars crossing them are shown underneath, at sea level.

Yepp, MSFS has a "shore issue". I've seen al lot of those underwater marinas around the simulated City of Hamburg. Complex bridges are a topic also. And towers like higher broadcast arrays. We have tow of those near or little airfield, both of them are around 300 meters high. MSFS don't show these important landmarks - X-Plane does. But overall I am impressed how good MSFS shows the landscape, buildings, woods and fields. For VFR guys agood way to prepare flights to unkwon airfields.

    Henry,
Which simulator do you personally recommend for non-professional use?
