Greetings all, Glad to see the forum back up. Santa brought me a 3070 and a 43' Vizio 4K. I was wondering what resolution you folks are running with a 4K screen? Is contact spotting better in 2K? Thanks in advance!

The V series Vizio is Nvidia G Sync compatible. Which seems to work well in Pseudo but not in full screen mode. Any G Sync users, is this the norm?

You're gonna love it, Axe.
I've been beta testing the VR Visual Update beta running 4K res on my (relatively) cheap 55" LG LED 4K TV which I had picked up on a Black Friday sale a few years ago at the local Best Buy electronics chain store. I spent a little extra on the HDMI cable which apparently can better run 4K bandwidth from your PC to the TV. The current release version 4K terrain (Blitz and Tobruk) is stunning; the aircraft cockpits and exteriors are breathtaking. The beta being tested and the alpha (MEV82) in 2D 4K are simply incredible.
Granted my system does struggle down low to the ground with flak, lots of aircraft, etc but the vast majority of gameplay runs smoothly. Your 3070 has the edge over my 3060 in that dept.
Contact spotting: a case could be made that running at 1080p you may pick up dots further out. What I like about 4K resolution is quickly discerning friend from foe by aircraft shape far better (for me) than at 1080p or even 2K (1440p) res. YMMV.
Just my 2 cents, but I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially with the TrueSky clouds.

Just a heads up. I went through 3 HDMI cables before I got one that allowed the higher res. and Gsync.

yes!
you do need to make sure your cables are top end. Or you get seriously crummy results. its not like the old days when any cable with the right plug was ok.
I have Gsync monitor and i absolutely love it. 2k though, which is fine as its only 32"
Gsync makes a massive difference. so long as you remember to turn V sync off in game... or that Gysnc chip in your monitor ont be doing anything.
I find with Vertical Sync set to "FAST" in the nvidia control panel things work perfectly.

Just the info I've been looking for. I've been reading all the different options, G-Sync plus Fast Sync vs V-Sync vs capped FPS. Capped seems to be the popular choice for the 144 hz panel guys playing FPS games at super high frame rates. I think for a 60 hz panel as I have the G-Sync plus Fast Sync is the way. I do have a 4K, 2.1 HDMI cable coming in to replace my high speed cable. Thx folks!!
