I can't seem to bailout of my 109. I blow the canopy and that flies away fine just like Cliffs does but then I just sit there after hitting ctrl E or the key on my joystick that I mapped for it. Do I need to take my straps off or something?

Right Ctrl J to pop the canopy.
Ctrl e to bail.
Check your key bindings to confirm.
Everything seems to check out as you say and that's the way it was..I'll try it again
Ok after going tap tap tap tap tap on E I finally got out lolol ....Thanks Dauntless
You need to hit the bail out key / button three times to make the pilot hit the silk.
I think it comes from the modern day ejection procedure order, "Eject, Eject,Eject", to make sure there are no little accidents....
Maybe a jet jockey can confirm?

On my system, reconfigured keys.
Ctrl J - jettison canopy and Ctrl e - bail works for German planes.
On English planes, open/slide, h on mine, canopy back and Ctrl e to bail.
Ctrl e e e, has never worked for me.
You got it figured out for you so good on ya!
also can't seem to be able to bail out
