    Maps need an update

I think the map should be revised to eliminate the forests, and make the towns, roads, bridges, railways, rivers, and lakes more defined.

As a real life pilot, with many cross country flights/hours under my belt, many of them without even radios or nav equipment, I have never used forests as a nav aid.

    I’m sorry, I didn’t understand your response.

what do you mean by "eliminate the forrests"?

As Map builder, i'd like to have more input about this , as forrests are and were present anyway in france and england, they're part of the "paysage"

As a Pilot, could you tell me the reference points you're using for a VFR cross country flight?

I'd like to have a better idea about this,
    thanks

Too my opinion landscape (and forset) in CloD looks like on photo. So what is wrong with forests?

If I'm not mistaken, it refers to the "paper" map that the pilot uses, not the game map where we move.

Slag, you could try just turning the forest setting down in video custom settings and see if that helps for your needs. I use forests and rivers for nav aids when doing high alt. bombing in France.

Yes. I think the original poster is not talking about the landscape, he is talking about the on-screen map (the pilot's 2D map shown within a windowed frame on the screen).

I used FAA Sectional charts in real life flying, which I compared with what I saw on the ground. In CLOD, as in real flying, looking at the ground from the cockpit, you should see the “world”. But, looking at a MAP, you should see the most prominent features. Roads, road intersections, towns, funny squiggly turns in a river, bridges, railroad tracks, etc. Also, the relationship of those to each other. So you can orient yourself.

    I hope this helps.

“Clod looks like on photo”. Except for the P-38.

I was wondering if you had taken a look at an FFA Sectional chart, to see what I meant about cleaning up the CLOD map? The CLOD map and the CLOD view from the cockpit need not be the same.
