Re: Wellington Bomber on Display RAF Museum Cosford

I was blown away by how easy they found it was to push it out from the hangar.....then I saw the great big machine behind
It's great to finally see it after all these years. I'm sure once it's fully assembled, a skin will appear here ready to honour it

Thanks for sharing, I look forward to popping up the road to see it in the 'flesh' cheers, MP

I was up there a couple of weeks ago Marlow. They said the Wellington was moving in.

The museum is well worth a visit being housed in two or three large buildings and with some larger external exhibits as well.

Another visit is called for I believe.

You don’t know what you are missing Seas.

Vulcan, bomb bay doors wide open with everything on view.

Nimrod, with permanently extended refuelling probe.

Hercules and Britannia, revealing very large rotaries on display.

If you tell them you have flown with the “Rag Tags” in the Battle of Britain and the Western Desert you will probably get discounted entry!!!!

Show them your scout “Woggle” and you’ll no doubt be looked upon even more favourably.

So stop being your normal Shrinking Violet* and go up yourself.

Anybody who knows ATAG HIGHSEAS knows this describes him perfectly.

I’m on the wrong side of the pond, unfortunately.

I would love to see a pic or two of the cockpit! Hopefully they’ll put a staircase in place outside the Welly to accommodate visitors wishing to do just that!

Marvellous. The other Welly at Brooklands museum is a fab sight, with an equally fab story.

I never knew they did this ! Certainly not when I visited.

Re: Wellington Bomber on Display RAF Museum Cosford

I have visited Cosford twice. The first time was about 15 years ago. I was there again a couple of years ago. The improvements to the displays were quite significant between visits. There was a guided tour of/in the Nimrod, and the three V bombers on display in one hanger; amongst many other displays.
    It's worth a visit.
