Key Bindings 2023

so... now i feel like a total newbie!!

Key bindings used to be saved in the Confuser.ini

and every time mine got scrambled (often !!) i could bind a new axis, and then do a cut and paste to tell the confuser what the peripheral was now called and bingo... back in the game

just tried that this evening after ages away from this....

But now... bind a new control, pop out of game... the confuser.ini still says its from 2022


anyone know where key bindings are now saved? It's obviously been changed.

If you mean you are alt-tabbing to desktop While the game is Still Running, then you will not see the update you expect to see in your confuser.ini. Changes are only saved to the text file when you exit the game!

It is not changed since you were last here.

So weird.

If I use the joystick configuration thingy it seems to upaldate the confused.

If I bind like normal in game the assignment works but the confuser isn't updated.

This is a totally new one on me.

Open the beta. Go to Options/Controls. Click on "Save As". Read the location in the windows explorer file selection popup. That should show where the game is saving these changes in confuser.ini.

Otherwise, are you saving game settings in Steam Cloud? Don't do that. Turn off saving from this game in the Steam interface.

If you want to keep the "cloud", or copy over to the cloud, it is saved here:
...\Steam\userdata\64278145\754530\remote
The number 754530 is the App-ID of Blitz:
App ID.png.



Keep the game closed or the game will overwrite changes with the old files again.

Thanks for your help guys.

I have no idea what was actually going on there.... but it simply would not update the confuser file.

In the end I popped into the "new" joystick configurator in the route of where the game is in steamapps/common, and rebound just the joystick access.

and bingo... confuser updated to todays date and eveything was working again.

This is a new glitch for me.... Was kinda like cliffs was blind to the file somehow.

really dont get it.

But it looks like its all fixed again.

Better try and learn how to fly at some point I guess (not that that ever stopped me before!!)

Steam cloud off ! (for cliffs)

That Cliffs joystick binding tool in the root of the steam install locations is really good. I'd not used it before.
