    Re: Microsoft Joystick FFB Effects

    hi

I edited the FFB files 2 years ago because I had problems with the Microsoft joystick at the time. I couldn't steer the plane properly because the efects were far too strong, so the joystick was too stiff, and the efects were also too strong when shooting. That's why I toned down some effects so that joystick guidance is smooth. I tested the whole thing on the 109 e4. I uploaded the FFB files maybe someone likes them

    Hi Schachmatt
i use a MS FFB and have tried various versions of FFB file over the years (think Lewis did some great work) so will give yours a go.

I only fly the Allied planes and the FFB is helpful for the flutter before a stall.
From memory I think the 109 cannon effects were oddly linked to the "shake" files and that was always the one that made everything vibrate badly.
Think one solution was to rename it from the autocannon file or dial down.

Your edit may have done same thing.

    Hi,

I also use a Microsoft Sidewinder ForceFeedback 2 joystick.
I think the problem with too strong shaking when the Bf 109 cannons were shooting was solved in 5.027 about two years ago - https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.c...ad.php?t=35341.
I don't fly German planes much but I think the effect in Bf 109s is much weaker and more realistic now than it was before.
I use the game settings, I don't have any FFB mod.

    Re: Microsoft Joystick FFB Effects

I've been using modified FFB files since back in IL2 1946. I have a few edits downloaded over the years, though I can't recall which I'm using , but it is required for improved MS FFB use. I've never had another stick and have no thoughts of ever changing it. I've 2 spare FFB and 2 non FFB Sidewinders for parts - when needed. But after more than 25 years use it looks like my 1st will outlast me.

I have two MS FFB's... only issue is the pots on the buttons will eventually wear out.

    But you can find replacements.

I experimented a bit. I replaced my shake.ffe file with the original file from the latest patch, now it feels good...Just like in iL2 Battle of Stalingrad with 60% strength
