As concepts I don't mix them but my foreign language skills fail me often. I'm not 100% sure I read that post at all because the link was giving me some kind of error but I assume it was among those I came across during my search. The difference is well documented on the forum.

I didn't even think about accounting for deviation. Don't tell me this game models both It can't possibly do that!

On the topic of the thread: Who won last night? I had to desert because I was starting to push all the wrong buttons

Thanks for putting the event together guys!!! Mid-week funzies are quite refreshing

Many thanks again to TFS and Snapper/Marlow for organising last nights event.

Being midweek meant less in the sky but the map was fairly compact and us Reds had a fun time.

Consequently, not sure you could call a win for either side but Reds might scrape the moral victory since we managed to take out most of the map objectives with some of the latter being due to little live opposition at the time.
Normally pretty sure we would not be able to circle Le Havre airfield for 15 minutes trying to trigger that last ruddy paratrooper tent!

Noofy (as usual) did a remarkable job for the Blues and probably managed to take out most of us in his dang G50 at one time or another. Amazing what a two stroke engine could do in 1940 with a skilled pilot.

Marlow found a novel way to take him out by sacrificing his tail plane and also delighted us with his "singing".

Jackmaxx was on form with the fighter top cover and Dazza provided the low level formation lessons (well except when he flew into some trees but that might have been my fault as i was in his blind spot most of the night).

I did my usual 'forget me not' moves such as leaving gear down and closed rads on take off but I am blaming that on sticky joystick buttons as i had a few problems.

As ever three hours never went so quick.

    Look forward to next event.

Yes both declination (10 degrees to the West in the 1940's in that region) and the magnetic deviation (error induced by metallic masses on-board) are modelled.
As in real life, deviation varies by plane type and by heading. It takes a lot of time to try all directions and build up the correction chart. I have published the ones I tested. They should be found on the forums.
Deviation is not negligible. It can vary by up to +/- 5 degrees depending on the heading. It does a big difference if you navigate with little outside view (in clouds, over desert, low over water, at night, ...). Otherwise you can live without it of course.
I have not tested the same plane type with different armament (different bomb loads, front gun present or not in the German bombers, etc...) Could be interesting to do at some point in time.
And finally, this is NOT a game. It is a simulator...

Yes I am becoming well aware of this

@Bonditaria: thanks for making these videos man. You and Karaya have the cleanest and most deliberate flying styles I have found on youtube. Watching you guys fly helps someone getting into this sim more than any tutorial video I have come across.

Gordon Bennett, Bondi! That was a crackin' piece of film!

The question has to be asked: what has Crepon ever done to you? You certainly had your sights set on the place and I'm so glad I wasn't eating doughnuts outside the Officer's mess when you 'came to call!' Great footage of the dogfights over the sea. Amazing deflection shooting when you brought poor old Damian down. I was convinced you were firing from extreme distance but your shots obviously told. Good old Jack Max seemed to be everywhere at once and you had a good old 'ding dong' with him, with honours being about even between the two of you.

And the other permanent fixture was Noofy and his 'lawnmower!' And if you wanted to know where he was when he wasn't caught by your camera....he was behind my poor old Blenheim...making it's innocent, bumbling way..... to Le Havre LW base. No amount of my 'jinking around' and wafting up and down shook him off and the hits, though well spread out, did tell in the end! Down I went! That Noofy! )

Before tackling Le Havre (which we eventually destroyed: fuel depot, Paratroopers and tents...everything!) Dazza, Slotty and I concentrated on the target at Trouville sur Mer (was it a panzer column?) which we eventually destroyed. We then bombed the Honfluer Motorpool and destroyed that, after several attempts. Coupled with the fact that Dazz' won the 'fastest finger first' competition at the start of the event, (those 'shredding skills' weren't such a waste of time after all, Dazz!) our AI raid on Rouen Boos Airfield added that objective to our growing tally.

We Reds certainly had some satisfying success in the Blennie department but it might be a bit strong to say we 'won.' Some of our success came very late in the Event, when some Blues had retired to their messes for strudel and schnapps.....and so we faced diminishing opposition. Mind you, Noofy was again a 'one man army.' He chose to fly fighters this Event. If he had chosen to bomb it might have all ended very differently!

Big thanks to all who joined in the mayhem. The next Event is coming soon and I believe Mr Polak will be making and announcement on Adlertag soon now! Salute!

P.S, The Cheque's in the post, Noofy! (Remind me how much Snap promised you, if you flew fighters?)

Coming from the bombers 'Maestro'.....this is praise indeed!

We will do our best, Noofy!

    Hi
    we enjoy that evening.
With OBT Squadron we choose the blue side and we beggin with bombing the stategic bridge in AF 3.4 near the ammunition depot. A new lesson for me and the team, all the bomb (anti blindage in french Anti Platting i think in english) must be delivered over 1000m.

We touch the bridge but just touch, the bombs stay inert.

In a second time, we choose to ride BF 109 E4, and we have fun in many situations
