“Canada Bombs” - RCAF Bomber Command Film (1943)

A Royal Canadian Air Force film made to highlight the RCAF in Bomber Command and the formation of 6 Group RCAF ( 1st January 1943).

Some nice shots of Wellingtons of 424 (Tiger) Squadron and 425 (Alouette) Squadron. Also of Halifax’s of 405 (Vancouver) Squadron.

    Enjoy.

I'm encouraged by the bouncing Wellington. Not that I ever land like that...

The crew were probably glad to get back onto ‘terra firms’ after having all that white hot metal thrown at them!!!

    Very brave men.

My dad was RCAF, based in Leeming '43-'46. He had a stack of original photos taken over Normandy in the lead up to D-Day blasting rail lines etc. In a couple you could see Halifaxes below. Wish I could find them.
