Good afternoon everyone.
I would like to make a query about a change of components in my PC:
Some time ago the motherboard started giving me problems, so that Virtual Reality simulation programs, especially DCS and IL2
are not working properly.
I would like to change the motherboard, microprocessor and memories that I am using, saving the graphics card (Nvidia RTX 3090Gybabite Aorus xtreme), hard drives, power supply (EVGA GQ 850W 80 Plus Gold Modular) and the case (cooler master) which is wide enough to be able to assemble everything with and overClocking the micro, and even the graphics card...
I don't know if the Noctua NH-D15S heatsink that I currently mount can be reused in the new board. If not, I would mount another heatsink of that style.
I use the PC for flight simulation in VR, mainly with a Valve Index, or a Pico 3 with Display Port, or a Pimax 5k+.
The simulator that demands the most of everything (graphics and micro) is DCS, although I also fly with IL2 BOS, IL2 Cliffs of Dover
(I am betatester of the VR version of the simulator) and the Condor Soaring 2.
The motherboard I am using now is an Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero Intel® Socket LGA 1151 6th generation. The RAM is 4x DDR4 8Gb (total 32Gb) GSkill Ripjaws V with a Noctua NH-D15S heatsink.
My idea is to buy the components in a online pc shop and I will assemble them myself at home.
I am currently using Windows 10, but with this configuration I do not know if it is time to move to windows 11 ....
I understand that, regarding the microprocessor, what interests is that it has less cores, but that they are faster, since the
current flight simulators only use one core...
Well, let's see if the experts of the group give me some ideas about what I should build for the RTX 3090 graphics to
deliver its full potential...
Best regards and good flights.
