impossible to exit plane configuration menu

hello,
after installing the latest update (5.042), when i'm trying to connect in multi but also in solo, I encountered a bug which prevents me from leaving the configuration and aircraft selection menu, I have tried restarting my game several times as well as checking the files (which found a few errors), the problem still exists, I have the impression that for the moment, the only way to correct and reinstall ( i'm going to try tomorrow)

Can you please describe the steps that get you into this situation? Which server, what exactly do you do until you cannot leave the plane configuration page?

A couple of us saw this Tuesday night on Danger Dogz. I couldn't leave the game and task manager wouldn't end the game. I resorted to taskkill to end it. I didn't report as I hadn't cleared cache.

I believe I could move from "Configure and Select Plane" to the map screen but couldn't change anything about the plane nor select an aerodrome. I'm not certain this is how it was now, perhaps I just saw the map the one time. Sorry. In either case leaving the game and server wasn't possible.

This did help - in another, probably not related, issue: When a player has bailed out, he's not in a configurable vehicle anymore, so trying to enter the Plane Configuration fails (button should be grayed out, but is not).

Tried to change ammo loadout on the BF109 E3 atag server and after apply and then select game locks up have to close launcher in task manger to exit game?
Problem also on DD and Vcaf server when attempting to configure loadouts some sort of conflict going on as if i dont alter any loadout its fine.

-I performed this on VCAF (Isle of Doom) with a Hurri IIa (aerodrome Red Fighter 2) and ATAG with a 109 E4 (Le Havre).
-One test I selected a different plane in step 5 and spawned ok.

Trying to enter the (abandoned!) aircraft's configuration after having bailed out indeed messed up the internal logic in the "Plane Configuration". I found the cause (you're not supposed to do that, there's nothing to configure with a parachute - too late anyway!) and have a fix (the 'Plane' button will now inactive when you've bailed out).

But I cannot find anything concerning the other reports getting stuck on the "Plane Configuration". Had those bailed out before, too?

Please try to reproduce (and do "Exit Plane" after you bailed out and before you do anthing else) and tell me what you did.

I encountered the same problems as Starkill (post 1).
But after the 5.042 update, I had kept all the files in the cache.(02/26/2025)
Since I cleared the cache, on the advice of ATAG_Jackmaxx, I have not encountered any more freezes in the aircraft selection space.
I have not reproduced the problem of dawson after a parachute drop.

A few words to let you know that I am encountering the same problems as all my comrades.... And this since the last Update.
A notable and annoying bug for me is the fact that the modification of the convergences of the on-board weapons is no longer saved despite clicking under "save" and "Apply". When I exit the application and come back to it for a new setting, the convergences are switched to "default" mode.
I mainly fly multiplayer on the "TWC" server, the starting bases are Manston, Canterbury and Eastchurch. The aircraft used, Hurri Mk IIC and Hurri Mk IIB.

Well, since the new patch has changed some things... changes to convergences in multiplayer are "valid for this plane-type during this session only" as per the instructions, and so - your experience is working as expected!

(C) Multiplayer, connected to a server, page "Battle Intro" ("Server Briefing" on self-hosted)
Page's title says "Configure And Select Plane".
This is where you select the plane you want to spawn in and you can configure that specific plane-type for the duration of the session. Any changes you make here are user‑set and valid for this plane-type during this session only. The configuration you see here is plane‑default plus user‑default plus mission‑set plus user‑set.

The place to permanently change convergences is in the main menu system under Options/Plane.

(A) Main Menu => Options => Plane
Page's title says "Plane Default Configuration".
This is where you configure your user‑default(s) for the planes: These will be saved permanently (user.ini) and applied on top of plane‑default to any plane you will spawn in. The configuration you see here is plane‑default plus user‑default.

If you have changed your convergences in the correct place, they will be saved correctly and when you go on the multiplayer server, your chosen convergence settings will be on the aircraft as you expected. This is now working correctly.

Yes. In 5.042 were changed principles how "Plane Loadout Settings" page works. Mostly it is great. But I think one thing have to be reverted to how it was.

Before create air group in multiplayer, player have to select aircraft and setup loadout. Due to multiplayer mission does not have any mission designed settings for air groups to be created in air spawn area, it have to just use the settings stored in "user.ini". So, I think all the changes done in "Plane Loadout Options" page in multiplayer have to be saved to "user.ini".

P.S. Well, I just remembered. One thing can be overrode in MP in spawn area. Faction and squadron related data can be fixed to spawn area settings. But "Plane Loadout Options" page is a different page

There may be a related issue still outstanding. It's possible if you wait too long after bailing out that you get stuck in an "Exit Aircraft" loop and must leave the server. My log file had nothing related.

Other players have reported landing but lingering in their aircraft too long then are unable to exit aircraft and must leave server.

I only saw it in multiplayer and have not yet spent time trying to recreate the issue.
