Are you ready to relive the Battle of Britain Hardest Day!!!

RAF

August 18, 1940.

11H00.

Gentlemen,

Since 13 August, the German Luftwaffe has deployed all its forces against the United Kingdom.
Today will certainly not be a calm day.
The Chain Home radar stations have detected numerous German formations over France.

Another assault will be launched in a few moments!

All pilots must be ready for take-off and combat!

God save the King and the British Empire!!!


Briefing of the day :



All pilots from No 501 and No 64 Sqn are requested to stand by for take-off.

Wait for take-off clearance (message on your screen) then patrol the area between Dover (AX.23) and Cap Dungeness (AV.21) .

The Chain Home radar stations will contact you by radio (message on your screen) and direct you towards the enemy.

No 64 Sqn at Kenley (AN.25).



Hurricanes I (Rotol), Hurricanes I (Rotol 100oct):

No 501 Sqn at Croydon (AN.25)


The radar menu work TAB 7 1 give you the position of ennemy planes relative to your position if you are close enought.
TAB 4 menu gives you access to 'refuel and rearm.'
To use ' refuel and rearm'......undamaged aircraft must be stopped at an airfield, with engine, magnetos, and fuel cocks switched off.

Our assault on Fighter Command's Airfields continues.
Luftwaffe is unstoppable!

You have the most difficult task, but also the most important.
Escort our bombers to their targets and bring them back to France!

Briefing of the day :

(Escort Fighter pilots):


All pilots must be ready to take off and escort the first raid of the day!
No free hunting will be tolerated at risk of being sentenced to court martial!


Wait for take-off clearance (message on your screen), then follow the ground control messages (message on your screen) which will direct you to the rendezvous point with the bombers.

Escort them to their targets and back to France!

Let me remind you of the instructions for pilots on both sides.


During these mission, I try to recreate the events of 18 August 1940 / The Hardest Day.
In order to have the most immersive experience possible, you must be ready to start your engines as soon as the server starts, have read the briefings and follow the instructions, otherwise you risk missing a lot of the action...

Mission#9 requires each pilot to be ready to take off

RAF Pilots will then attempt to intercept Luftwaffe attacks, following instructions from ground control.

Luftwaffe pilots then follow the ground control instructions to be on time for the rendezvous with the bombers to be escorted.

All these instructions are there to give you an immersive and realistic experience, but of course the game is open to everyone and everyone is free to experience it in their own way.

Thank you to all the participants for this evening!

I think there were 40 pilots on the server this evening.
All was not perfect I think but we could see a lot of action on the Luftwaffe side, the RAF pilots were very aggressive I think and attacked us very early over the Channel but maybe not grouped enough...(Fortunately for us)

On the Blue side the bomber formations broke up after the bombing (which was not expected...) and were impossible to escort on the way back to France unfortunately...

Here's the video that inspired me so much to create this event, it was created by our friend Soto from the Air War Chronicles channel, if I'm not mistaken.



I can't wait for the debriefings and videos from the pilots on both sides!

Damn this thing was... excessive...

An excessive amount of bombers, an excessive amount of fighters, an excessive amount of bullet holes in my fuselage and above all an excessive amount of fun to be had!!!

Debrief: I shot everybody and everybody shot me!

Are in these missions any AI planes other than the bombers? Sometimes I saw AI fighters, but I don't know are they spawned or these are planes left by a player during flight.

Thank you for the reply! Just out of curiosity: any idea what AI does in this case? Return to base and despawn, or flying pointless around, maybe continues fighting if enemy around?

A little late because I'm very busy with real life, but
Here's a mission report, the 9th
A wonderful escort mission where I personally had little success, but I returned alive after escorting two groups of JU 88s.

I recall shooting at 109's on two occasions, with one successful hit confirmed visually, and another that resulted in the target being driven off a Spitfire's tail. The mission involved the destruction of a He111 bomber, a parachute jump with no controls except the elevator, following an attack by two Messerschmitt Bf 109s, a single perfect landing back at base, shooting at a Junkers Ju88, and the destruction of some low-flying Dornier Do17s with a number of RAF aces. I was present at the bombing of Biggin Hill, and also at the second bombing on the other airfield. However, the effects of the explosions and the resulting fires were too much for my PC at the time, and the game closed itself in a graceful manner, leaving me wanting more. Thank you for the mission.
