    Re: TF DeviceLink like interface

Not sure if anyone else is still using this program, but I had some time this weekend so I made a Martlet Cockpit for anyone that wants to use it.

I will probably work on the Tomahawk next - stay tuned...

A Wellie would be nice. Right now I use the Blenheim VC which has a few working gauges. OK but not ideal.

***DISCLAIMER*** The Compass will only show North (0) at straight up. The small digits at the top come from the course compass (I_Pfeilzeiger) and the bottom numbers are for the Magnetic Compass (I_MagneticCompass). So, in-game, you might get a visual difference between the Course setting and the graphic. But, the numbers are correct...

    P.S.

In case you wondered, I have "borrowed" some gauges and reworked others for my virtual pits. (Why do all the work from scratch since we have had some pretty good coders here in the past?) So, if you see some of "your" work in my virtual pits, All I can say is THANK YOU! and I will try to give credit to you.

    P.P.S

I am still working on the Wellington. (That thing has a TON of stuff in it! Oh, and I will work on the radio stuff for you guys too...) There are only so many hours in a day and unfortunately, I am not self-employed or retired. LOL

I be mighty grateful for this, I find it hard to read those instruments. And I got a new fulcrum yoke to use

I promise I will be starting on it this weekend. I haven't flown the bird, but it looks like a headache to see all the instruments in it. (Maybe that's why it was flown with a co-pilot? LOL)

As long as we not having a Lancaster in any sim, The Wellington is the most amusing bomber to fly. Mossie in DCS will be a good second choice. I really miss flying Wellington. I could not bring myself to soil it using a joystick. So I had to wait until Yoke got finnished. My Honeycomb yoke was sold to a stranded simmer that could not get it anywhere due to massive demands

    Re: TF DeviceLink like interface

Ive run into a few problems and maybe your Wellington jocks can help me out:

    1. What does this thing in "RED" do?
    2. Where are the damned fuel gauges for the plane???!
    3. The thing circled in "GREEN" is usually controlled by the "I_Slip" parameter, but as you can see in the table below, the game is not pushing data there. The instrument moves in game, so it's receiving it's data from somewhere. Where? I am not certain...

Here is a link to the virtual cockpit. When I have completed the thingy in red and fixed the thingy in green, I will upload the finished product to my dropbox. Here is the pit for you guys to test out. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6l4maw6srr...ngton.rar?dl=0

Radio Direction Finder (home base radio beacon) probable use the parameter I_AFN, like He 111, Ju 88.

In other planes the green circled instrument use the I_Slip and I_Turn parameters. Move rudder, aileron, elevator and pause game before take the data screenshot.

No clue about fuel gauges, probable located remote like in Blenheim (left cockpit roof). I promise (for myself) don't touch this plane anymore when see the gross error in their compass 3D, despite asking them to do it right for years.

I did that but there is no data from DeviceLink.

My guess is that for Welli the data export for I_Slip parameter is no enable in Device Link.

Mouse over pop-up of the instrument show, e.g. Slip indicator (-2.9)*.

BTW - For Turn and Bank Indicator the pop-up don't show any digital reading for value, but work OK.

This lack of data happens with other parameters for some planes, the thing is not 100% consistent.
For example, that level instrument used in Tiger Moth as guise of variometer don't have export data.

    * In DeviceLink Raw Data monitor, nome of the parameters show this -2.9 value.

Radio direction Finder probable use the parameter I_RDF, too not enable to export data in Device Link (see in your screenshoot).

In game Radio Direction Finder - that always read 990, seems not able to detect signal of Radio Beacon Generic Long Range Mast - in Welli only the "Secondary Navigation Frequency" is selectable... probable one more unfinished feature.

Only developers can help you with this issues, for enable the missing parameters.

    ...fuel gauges...
Over your right shoulder is a panel on the other side of the bulkead.
And are 6 instruments, try combine then two in one for save space in screen, I think that DNPHN cockpits use this solution.

Like I guess, AFN (Lorenz) is enable in Wellington VC cockpit - I copy instrument of VC He 111 and test:

Of course this don't match the RDF instrument in plane cockpit, that remains static (with the -990 value), typical "It's CloD!".

    Great work, Fehler.
I have DL and will test it out. I have never had a need for RDF in game......I guess for night bombing.....which is rare in CLOD. We have a modified Knickebein system in TWC servers developed by TWC Flug.....works great.
As much as everyone loves the P8 compass. would it be possible to have the small plane type compass. It could fit under the gauges on the left side.
Thanks for all your work on this.

    In multiplayer, yes.

But is a interesting option for single player, although the very poor cockpit illumination don't incentives much to try.

An practical option is leave just DG, but showing compass reading = true heading. Back in this post are some for show limited instruments for Spit in Windows Surface tablet.

Ha! How the hell did I miss that?!?!? I will have an update pretty soon. I guess the RDF isn't going to work after all. Many thanks to 1lokos for figuring that out for me. I will let everyone know when I have the updated pit up for download...

The RDF instrument have two needles:

    https://www.recoverycurios.com/site/...beam-app-5.jpg

    Patch 017 changelog say:

** New: Lorenz system enabled on Wellington.0, .1, .2 data.

EDIT - I am confusing Wellington and Beaufighter.

Wellington have a kind of AFN2 (for Lorenz) - see at right, and RDF (always reading -990). Beaufighter have only RDF (non functional, at left on the picture).

Looks like that are two lamps, one under O (Outer mark?) and other under I (Inner mark?).

OK, well here is what I decided to do. I added all the fuel gauges and decided to wait until the TF dev's fix the RDF to add it. Hopefully one of them can "fix" the slip indicator in the future. In any event, this is what it looks like. (Link below)

The "Beam Approach indicator" (called Lorenz on mouse pop-up, work with AFN.1, AFN.2 data) used in Wellington, resemble this model:

The current version of Virtual Cockpit only supports controls and indicators that were in the original CloD. We have added things like the dust filter controls, nitrous injection and the loop antenna. VC will have to be updated to support these new controls.

The Wellington radio navigation does not work like the He-111 or Ju-88. Those are automatic systems that continuously display the direction to the beacon. The Wellington is like the BR-20, you have to rotate the loop to get a fix. The directional information is keyed to the I_FLRC parameter but you really want the loop antenna orientation.

    Re: TF DeviceLink like interface

OK, who wants to try this bad boy out? Let me say this... I did a great deal of work trying to make the Italian gauges look like they do in the cockpit. If you spot something that is misspelled or doesn't work correctly, let me know so I can fix it...

Oh, there is one thing... What the hell is the "E" looking needle on the oil temperature gauge supposed to do? I tried flying the plane and even over heating it on the ground and I can never get that needle to move! Is it a bug, or am I just stupid?

Sorry I wasn't able to make the curved arrows for the Variometer. That coding is beyond my knowledge. (If anyone knows how to do it, please share with me!)

Lastly, if anyone knows the TF guy (or gal I suppose) that originally designed DeviceLink, let me know. Some of the new planes have items that call for an updated version of DeviceLink. I want that person to know that his/her work is not in vain and we are still builing cockpits for the aircraft. Eventually, I want to have an updated version for each fly-able. It's a lot of work, (usually a week or two per cockpit if I have to build from scratch) but it's fun (and frustrating!) LOL

Almost forgot... Here is the link for download! https://www.dropbox.com/s/mv4x15ce7g...BR.20.rar?dl=0

I have created some VC for the Mc 202, E-7/N, Dewoitine, etc but in most of them I am not able to let work the altimeter or the speed indicator. Any idea what is the parameter to be used to let it work? ( The old one doesn't seems to work anymore )

    Don't have I_VelocityIAS and I_Altitude instead I_IAS and I_ALtimeter?

I really like the text you have added with max temps/pressures. That should be on all VCs.

PM me for help with speed and altitude, I need to see the files.
