Here we have the Smiths Mk II (Mk III wanted) fitted where it should be on the panel. Big “chunky” winder, helps to adjust the time without any fiddling about. This is a genuine early clock out of a Hurricane or Spitfire.
Picture taken this morning, at the time it says on the clock!
55” Samsung UHDTV: Sometimes I don’t see contacts straight away. All of a sudden they will “pop” in. PITA - but it is, what it is. TIR unit is perched on the top, pointing slightly down. My eyes are on a par with the top of the gunsight glass.
P9 Compass. This also displays the Trim Wheel position, Rudder Bias position, Radiator status, and finally the Flap status.
You can use the switch to the left of the monitor to move the outer rim left or right, to read off your heading. However, VC provides this near the bottom (in the picture heading is 152 degrees). Which saves time when you spawn in, and during Campaign Sunday, Sector Control scramble you straight away!
Also, a close up of my “loosely based” Channel Selector for Teamspeak. Off Toggles “Away” status, RAF Main, 32 Dispersal, 32 Main, Pilots Lounge.

Could do... but its just for two other inputs... so far I have a warthog grip (on a vkb base) and a warthog throttle... plus my original switch panel, plus my throttle qaurant... plus this new switch panel.
thats 71 switches and 7 axis ontop of what is porovided by the warthog setup... and there is aleready... I dunno... another 55 switches or so on those.
I don't think I'm gonna miss the extra 2 !!
In reality I don't need this new switch box at all.. I just made it because I could.

Windows Games Controllers see only 32 buttons, 1 POV HAT (8 angles) and 8 axes - and up to 16 joysticks.
MMjoy2 can manage up to 120 buttons, 1 POV HAT (8 angles) and 8 axes.
In CloD you can map in controls buttons up to 32 and using keymapper (Joy2Key, SVMapper...) can use buttons above #32 through keyboard emulation.
In BoS you can use up to 64, and in DCSW up to 128 buttons direct in their controls, because this games use a more modern DInput version and don't follow Windows restriction.

This is my GeekPit™ (see gp-m5 blog for history and more detailed info)
I call it the Mk5:
Noteworthy also, the rather "unique edition" X55-PRO: detailed here
Rule of thumb: Every '109 has a wingman...
Same cramped space as I got, and it give a feeling of real cockpit. I have a vacation from flying in general. I wait for the € to get a bit cheaper or the Norwegian currency to get stronger. Then I will buy a Yoko the Yoke . I decided I rather have that than a VR set. I like my maxflightstick, but enjoy a good yoke when I fly bombers. I also try to afford a new rig. One that will last 10 years, like the one I have. So until then nothing will be added to my pit
The picture shows what I had before I got my maxflightstick

Hmm, I wish I knew more aboutthe 5.0 version of COD, and the arrival of the Wellington . I was planning to go VR , until I realised I was more interested in a good yoke for the wellington. Just when I decided for VR goggles the wellington came within reach.
So I think I will get this

"She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid."
Here's my very basic set-up.
I've got the war book section up on the top left (not my whole collection but just some of what I need handy for some current projects). Included is the Haynes Spitfire manual and the Blenheim Mk. V Pilot's notes (sadly I couldn't get a Mk. IV but it's still cool.) Up on top is my Star Wars lego sets with a trackIR hiding in front. Wasted space for flight sim stuff? Nah. I like my TIE Fighters and the Falcon.
On the left is some models and some overflow Star Wars. The tanks are mostly 3D printed and painted ones. Below that is my TrackIR hat shelf. Above my monitor I have a printed map of the main CloD area with the airfields and common landmarks on it. (I downloaded it from this forum somewhere.) On the right is Tucks "Ten Rules for Air Fighting". I also have some aircraft ID playing cards for the Beau and the 110 stuck on top of my Samsung 23 inch monitor. I don't want to be like that Spitty who shot up my Beau the other day so I keep these in handy if I need to ID a plane. Plus, they look cool.
Controls are a Thrustmaster FCS throttle and a Defender Cobra M5 stick (complete with ATAG sticker). Below it all I have the Thrustmaster TFRP pedals. The speakers are rarely used, I use a crummy logitech headset most of the time. The mic is broken so I use the webcam behind the amazing ancient mechanical keyboard as a mic. And of course, my PC has an ATAG sticker and an RCAF badge.
Most of you guys have much fancier set-ups, but I'm very happy with mine. It feels like home.
Haha Flare! I had the same millennium falcon on the bookshelf in our bedroom. Had to take it down cuz my boys were climbing up, ripping the hull open, and extracting terrified minifigs.
Currently printing out my first prototype for the flap mechanism. Hoping to get a mill/rotary table to machine the forward bits out.

OK been considering Sharing what us " Cripple" guys use, so here ya are:::::
"Volair Sim Cockpit with triple 32" LG monitors, some are aware that I had a stroke over two years ago, which resulted in left side paralysis , which means " left arm/hand don't work"
So !!! there are NO left side controls: almost all action movements are programed to the Thursmaster warthog stick; ( can't use the "throttle piece). other commands (the ones that aren't used in order to pay i.e. compass setting , bail out act are programed in the " logictec game pad to the right. AND thanks to Baffin I use a voice activated program to handle several functions as well. This at least has allowed me to continue flying, Now if it would just work in full size !!!!!!

This is a 50" LG OLED TV, powered by the signature computer rig. It is flanked by two Dell 30" 2560 x 1600 monitors turned to portrait mode in one picture, and landscape mode in the other. Landscape is less painful to my old neck. They are powered by an old PC.

My fairly simple setup (annotated):
The sim chair (not shown here) is just a standard chair with a folded blanket on the set for a height boost and a corrugated cardboard 'armour plate' on the back to stop the fireplace directly behind me from interfering with my headtracking, now that it's coming into winter down here. Crashed B-24 mentioned here.

Love it!
But I bet its "only" a chair with a blanket when the pc is off right?
My table pit is just a table.... until I load up ciffs... and then my inner 7 year old takes over and it's a full blow hurricane cockpit. Never fails!!
It's surpisingly comforting to still have that. The ability to alter reality like a seven year old can.
What's that phase? "put away childish things and became a man." .... I very much dodged THAT particular bullet!
I'm gonna go and build a den in the garage.

The thing is, when we were 7 year olds we never had computer sims like cliffs.
We had Airfix models, and that was it,
so, why should we miss out on all of this fun. After all,

Found a great desk on Amazon, which I customized with a slide out joystick shelf . . . for me, a joystick a couple inches lower than keyboard is much more comfortable.

Looks like a good set up McSlash. I have my controls sitting on a stand but considering a keyboard tray approach like yours, and i think you have convinced me. How wide is your tray?
You might want to consider something like this. I use a G13 and quite like it. I was using it along with a joystick, throttle, throttle quadrant, and trim wheel, but it all just seemed a bit too much, and so have gotten rid of the throttle and am using the throttle quadrant as my throttle now. The G13 has about 28 keys x 3 that you can use, it's easy to do macros on and saves the reach to the keyboard. You haver room on your tray for one, but considering how many switches you already have it might be redundant. I think i will get a lot of use if I fly more DCS where a lot more buttons are needed. The key i use the most is actualy the joystick (hat), as when i push down ot it, the canopy opens and i bail.... so ya, a lot of use.... (takes a bit of effort to push it down, so i don't jump accidentally)
Don't really need to, but use the screen to monitor GPU and CPU temps as well.
I know that people really seem to like it for their video editing as well.
