Even though the Marine Harrier and the British GR Harriers never got Air to Air radar they were still used in the CAP role. Same with the Italian Harriers.

They flew CAP in both Iraq in the 90s and Balkans.

They assumed threat level from Iraqi fighters was seen as low so even a Harrier with just heatseeking short range missiles could preform CAP duty. AWACs cover ment it was unlikely to be any surprise attack from Iraq and there would also always be something scarier not far away to help. Like any of the American Teens, or French Mirage 2000s.

In this mission we're patrolling northern Iraq as part of Operation Northern Watch.

I've added a randomiser. So I can encounter several types of Iraqi aircraft while on patrol.

I have AWACS cover. But in this case my RWR saw the enemy first.
