    InGame Message Windows Setups

Anyone got any tips or "How-To" to set up the information windows in game. Perhaps some examples of what works for you and "How-To" set it up?

This was posted at 1C and IMO is virtually perfect. Just copy and paste into your .ini. This should get you a good start on setting up the windows properly. The only other thing I do is mute the in game speech from the audio section and then add 'voice' to one of your customizable windows. That way all the radar calls of enemy contacts come out in easy readable text.

As far as customizing your windows, you use alt+left mouse to highlight the window.. (All windows on screen are highlightable - Even the AI voices you see as text sometimes) Then you can right click on the highlighted window to see all the options for it.

This is a good one to sticky!

Appreciate your tip and response Bliss.

And while I'm at it let me thank the individual that helped me with the info window in game. Can't recall his name, but thanks.

This may or may not be a solution to a long standing problem I've had(http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ead.php?t=4033) I believe there is a default setting I have lost or misplaced.Progamming the info box doesn't seem to help -results seem temporary at best .I don't know how I lost this feature in the first place, but it must be in one of the files ( perhaps confuser ini.?) I have a feeling there is a simple solution I just can't seem to find it,Can you help ATAG Bliss?

    Hi Chief,

Lewis posted this a while back, and also on the CLoD Steam Discussions, and you might find it helpful: http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.co...ighlight=lewis

You can do a lot with them but because of that they can pretty awkward at first.
    So, this is France.

All I'm trying to get back is the ( I believe ) default info window on the right. It gives basic info on what i have just done. Its very similar to what is default in IL-2 sturmovik.

You can get the default settings back by deleting the 'confuser.ini' file in your Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover folder and then running the game.

Alternatively, try these, they're my default chatwindow settings:

    Code:
    [ChatWindow]
    0:-1=-posSize '0.003 0.870 0.206 0.130' -titleStr "Motor Controls" -alpha 130 -ualpha 0 -wrap -history 100
    0:262144=-lay 1 -fnt 0 -clr 0
    1:-1=-posSize '0.818 0.543 0.181 0.145' -titleStr "Secondary Controls" -alpha 130 -ualpha 0 -history 10 -timeout 15
    1:5=-font 0
    1:4=-font 0
    1:7=-font 0
    2:-1=-posSize '0.002 0.000 0.460 0.186' -titleStr "Info. Window 1" -alpha 130 -ualpha 25 -vscroll -wrap -history 100
    2:393216=-fnt 0 -clr 54 -al 2 -tf 1 -sz 1 -sl 1

Thanks this got me closer...everything did show up after disabling ConUser file ,but I lost my FFBjoystick ...So ( forgive my relative stupidity here,) Is the Chat Code you have given in the ConUser File? If so I think I can finally get back what I need...oh yes and get my joystick up & going again

Oh I see, I forgot to mention that the confuser.ini contains all sorts of settings. I suggest you save your controls as a separate ini file (go to options - controls - save as, pick any name for the file and save), you will then be able to load it at any time, even mid-flight. The TrackIR is not part of the settings though so no worries and no, there is no stupidity, the gui is simply very awkward.

And yes the code is on the very bottom of the confuser.ini file, you can just open yours with a notepad and copy&paste the code below, then save.

Robo-Many many thanks this solvedf everything! This little problem's solution has eluded me for months! In my original ( before Mods) ConUser file I didn't even have a "Chatlog" catagory! I wonder wher it had gone? I did as you instructed- pasted yours at the end & viola, all I wanted ( and more) appeared in game.So cool!

    Re: InGame Message Windows Setups

Is there a way to change the color of in-cockpit text? When I'm syncing my compass and gyro, the shade of blue text could be easier to read against the instrument panel background if it had greater contrast.

Update: After looking through Lewis' fabulous tutorial, it appears not all window info text colors can be changed. I was trying to make Secondary Controls a higher contrast color, but had to settle for using a larger font, which should make it easier to read.
