Hello ALL
I was flying the other night on the server everything was working well except for my rudder peddles.Every time I sent the peddles through its axis I was getting this awful grinding sound the peddles were stiff and really not working at all well. So I decided to strip them down ,which was quite simple

when I got he base plate off this is what greeted me the damage was awesome I have had these peddles for about two and half years now, and never in that time have I bothered to strip them down

The cleaning process was easy enough just got out the white spirit, M-kote and away I went. I think the guy who was greasing up the peddles at Saitek must have has some sort of finger seizure cause the amount of grease I removed was un- believable, and which also was contributory to the amount of damage incurred because the dust, grit and hair(yuk) was intertwined in it causing a abrasive gluppy mess. After about an hour or so I had reduce the deep pitting in the surfaces of the base plate, and main board of the peddles, taking care not to get the free moving wires caught up on any screw when re-assembling the two plates.
Everything was great smoother than the peddles have been well since I can remember. I used the M-kote sparingly but strategically and all problems solved. I think that periodic cleaning is the only answer to these type of problems. So I hope this quick how to is helpful to any of you guys who own this brand of peddle
